New York, July 29.—General Stewart L. Woodford, United States minister to Spain, sailed yesterday for the scene of his future duties. General Woodford was accompanied by his wife and daughter and by the members of the legation. These latter were John R. MacArthur, assistant secretary; Captain Tasker H. Bliss, U. S. A., military attache, and Lieutenant George S. Dyer, U. S. A., naval attache. There also sailed with General Woodford, his nephew, Stewart Woodford Capen, his niece Miss Mary Claflin Eames and Miss Isabella Hanson.
