Full Text
"We believe," says the Burlington Free Press, "that William P. Dillingham in point of age, oratorical ability, intellectual equipment, manly independence, unimpeachable integrity, and broad Christian character combines qualifications which would enable him to enter upon a senatorial career with great promise of attaining the distinction desired by our people for their United States senators. But a majority of the people believe that either Senator Ross or Commissioner Prouty or Congressman Grout could do better service for the state than Mr. Dillingham. and so elect, the majority should rule."
This is kind the F.P. Of course the majority should rule, but it fills us with renewed confidence in the future to be assured that the F.P. thinks so.—Rutland Herald.
