State Treasury.

Topeka, January 31.—The accounts of the state treasurer's office, which were closed early in January, ready to be transferred to Mr. Biddle, had to be reopened on account of the pressure of business, and it will probably be February 1 before the invoices can be checked up and transferred to Treasurer Biddle.

The receipts of the office have averaged $200,000 a day for two weeks, on account of the annual settlement of county treasurers, which are made at this time.

Treasurer Stover has been excluded from meetings of the executive council, of which he is a member by virtue of his office, since the new state officers have taken their offices.
