Acacia Holds Annual Barbecue

The Sixth Annual Barbecue of Acacia Lodge No. 47, F. & A.M. was held at the Masonic Temple last Saturday under the general chairmanship of Charles F. Parker. Over 650 people were served and approximately 60 pounds of the beef were sold afterward. Many came as early as 4 p.m. and at 6 p.m. there was a long line waiting to get to the food counter, and tables had to be set up in the Lodge room to accommodate the overflow.

All lodge members took an active part in some phase of the project and wives of members and Bethel No. 8 Job's Daughters were in charge of serving. The meat, the greater part of which was obtained from Laurence G. Robertson, was excellent, as were also the beans prepared by the ladies. Diners came from many surrounding towns.

Members of Acacia Lodge No. 47 extend their thanks to the public in making this one of the most successful of their annual barbecues. Funds obtained will be used in extending the facilities of the lodge.
