TOKYO, Japan - The first movie to be produced jointly by the Toho Studios and the Nichiei Productions after their recent agreement to work together, "Shinya no Hijosen" (Midnight Police Cordon) portrays the post-war young generation's way of life, their loves, their worries and their relations with each other. The film attempts to show that the human heart is a pure and beautiful thing.
Bringing together such stars as Ryo Ikebe, Yuriko Hamada, Hajime Izu and Setsuko Wakayama, the movie is a fast-moving picture of the true character of the cameraman whose work is so little understood by the ordinary Japanese.
The real scenes are: (upper) - Minoru Chiaki, Yuriko Hamada and Ryo Ikebe; (lower left) - a love scene with Setsuko Wakayama and Hajime Izu; (lower right) - cameraman Ryo Ikebe and news car driver Yuriko Hamada.
