Bristol. Jan. 11. On Monday was a meeting at Merchant's Hall. And the same evening another meeting of Gentlemen who had the interest of the American Colonies much at heart; who both drew up petitions, setting forth the distresses of the Colonies, the interruption of commerce and stagnation of trade of Great Britain, &c. The petition of the last mentioned Gentlemen was sign'd by the Mayor, Aldermen, and principal inhabitants of the city, and Samuel Sedgly and Henry Cruger, Esqs. Were requested to wait on our representatives therewith.
