Full Text

Repentance.—It appears by our telegraphic dispatch that an anti-Lecompton Democratic Mass Convention was holden yesterday at Jackson, in Amador county at which S. H. Marlette, nominated recently by the antiLecompton Convention in Calaveras county, was endorsed as a candidate for the Senate. It was voted to make no nominations. It appears that two members of the Convention, one a late delegate to the Lecompton State Convention, and the other a former member of the Assembly, and recently one of the Lecompton State Central Committee from Amador county, have bolted the Lecompton State ticket and joined the antiLecompton ranks. This fact will be regarded as significant by the politicians.
