Full Text

Much has been said by Mr. Calhoun and his advocates, of the intentions of the Executive unnecessarily to use force for the suppression of the Nullifiers in South Carolina, and it has even been asserted, that the military organization in that quarter was provoked, by movements on the part of the General Government. We insert in our columns of to-day, the instructions which accompanied the President's recent Message, from the Treasury Department, to both the Collector and District Attorney, and which will amply refute all such assertions.—Globe
