Full Text

The Durant Democrat says that beyond Blue, on the Caddo and Durant roads, some movers found a young baby not more than five or six days old that had been deserted by its mother. The baby was nicely dressed and wrapped up in a new woolen blanket and placed in a box by the side of the public road, where there is a great deal of travel. Buggy tracks leading to and from the direction of Caddo were found, and they showed where the party who placed it there had circled his vehicle to return the same direction it came from. The baby was taken to Caddo by the movers.
