In the House of Representatives, on Friday, Mr. C. J. Ingersoll, chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, in reply to a question of Mr. Hammett of Mississippi, stated that he expected to call up the Texas question on Monday (this day).

The House resolved itself into a Committee of the Whole on the State of the Union, Mr. Cave Johnson, of Tennessee, in the chair, and resumed the consideration of the bill to graduate and reduce the price of the public lands to actual settlers, &c.

Messrs. Smith of Illinois, Pettit, and McClernand, severally addressed the committee at length in support of the bill.

Mr. T. Smith of Indiana, then obtained the floor, and the committee rose and reported progress.

A number of bills from the Senate were read the first and second times, and referred; and a number of petitions, as usual, were presented, and referred under the rules.

The House adjourned over to Monday, (this day.)
