Tuesday, September 8, was registration day at St. Ann's parochial school and classes were resumed this morning. The enrolment was gratifying, particularly in the intermediate and entrance grades, it was announced today.
Two Sisters of St. Ann have been added to the teaching staff for the ensuing year, one in the educational department and the other as head of the department of music. The latter is said to be a promising factor for the future of the school. The Sister directing the latter department has been, until recently, directress of music for the province of the Sisters of St. Ann which includes many schools throughout British Columbia as well as Alaska. She will also direct the work of the school orchestra.
This strengthening of the curriculum to include music is regarded as a forward step and one that will be appreciated by the Catholics of the City since it extends facilities to them equal to any offered elsewhere.
During the summer months, under the untiring efforts of Rev. William LeVasseur, the pastor, the school building has undergone necessary repairs and improvements have been made. Rev. LeVasseur, it was said, has labored earnestly to maintain and promote the school's standard to the end that it will serve the community in every respect.
