RESULT OF THE ELECTION.
We give below returns from all the counties of this state, showing a most glorious triumph of the principles of democracy. The final official returns may slightly vary some of the reported majorities, but it is not probable they will change, in any material degree, the aggregate result. There is no reason to doubt that the majority for Marcy over Seward is upwards of thirteen thousand. Of the forty members of Congress chosen, thirty-one are firm and thorough democrats and supporters of the administration of Andrew Jackson. The only district now represented by a democrat in which a bank tory candidate has succeeded is the 8th, where Mr. Hunt has been elected over Mr. Pierson by a very few votes majority. This loss is fully balanced, however, by the substitution of a sound and worthy democrat for the knavish apostate Dudley Selden. Of the State Senate, twenty-eight members will support, and four will be opposed to the administration. In seven of the eight districts our friends have carried the day. The House of Assembly will be composed of ninety-three democrats and thirty-five Bank tories, conceding to the latter all in Rensselaer and Jefferson, one in Ulster, and one in Albany—which is probably more than they will eventually find they have carried.
