THE HERALD-NEW YORK,

[From our Evening Edition.]

FROM FLORIDA. -The Florida Herald of the 4th inst., received by the schooner Agnes, Capt. Hintz, estimates the Indians in the Okefenoke swamp, at from 500 to 600 in number. In the neighborhood of Micanopy, one man had been killed and another wounded, while fishing in a pond. Col. Harney had gone on an expedition to scour the Withlacoochee, with a force of 220 men, one hundred of which are armed with Colt's rifle, and disguised as Indians. Captain Mickler left Palatka on the 2d, to join Col. Harney at Micanopy.
