GEN. DUPONT's ARMY.

It is stated in some of the letters which have been received from Spain, that the Patriots made use of an excellent ruse de guerre in their attack upon Gen. Dupont. A part of the force that attacked that general was composed of regular troops, and before the action commenced they changed clothes with the peasants, and others, who formed the remainder of his army. This artifice, it is stated, was completely successful, for General Dupont directed his principal efforts against those whom, from their uniform, he took to be regular troops, and had taken very few precautions against those whom he considered to be an undisciplined mob. The consequence was, that his army was thrown into confusion, and completely defeated.
