Full Text

A Public School Teacher.
The trustees of the Public School of Muscatine voted 4 to 2 to employ two female teachers the ensuing year instead of one male. Accordingly they notified Mr. G. B. Denison, the former teacher, of their decision, stating that they would give him a "letter of introduction to the Trustees of the Davenport school, who are now seeking a teacher for the large school about to commence there." Mr. Denison, with a spirit which evidently shows that the man is entirely unworthy the confidence which has been reposed in him, gives this letter to the public, with about a column of corresponding comments, concluding with the sagacious remark that, "as the good people of Davenport are strangers to me, and I am not fond of weeding onions, with your permission I should prefer to remain a short time in Muscatine." We congratulate the citizens of Muscatine in getting rid of such a man as a teacher of their children.
