POET'S CORNER.
WISDOM AND HEALTH.
O Muse of sweet Health, thy Temples bind
And thou, blest Wisdom, on my Mind
With thy celestial Wreath;
Thy choicest Odours breathe.
As dearest Friends together live,
Like them you pine apart;
Health gone, not Wisdom e'er can give
Pure Rapture to the Heart.
If Wisdom fly the youthful Breast,
Not smiling Health can gain
To it the cordial Balm of Rest,
A Mind exempt from Pain.
Come then, Twin Daughters of the Skies,
Here make your social Stay;
The Moment either from me flies,
Death snatch my Soul away.
