Full Text

On Tuesday evening last, the whole School—boys, men and women—assembled in the new hall in the Chapel building. All were comfortably seated, after some adjustments of seats had been made, and it was at once apparent the hall was a great improvement over the old room in which the School was wont to assemble. After all were seated, several patriotic songs were sung by the boys, as a practice for the Fourth of July celebration, when the Superintendent made an interesting talk, descriptive of his recent visit to the National Conference of Charities and Correction at Cincinnati. All were much interested in what he said on the subject of his visit to several reformatories, the proceedings of the Conference and what he saw of the institutions and other things in the "Queen City of the West."
