LONDON, Jan. 9.

Several of our brave but unfortunate countrymen, have begun to experience the peculiar excellencies of Mr. Mann's newly invented artificial leg. Admiral Paley, the Hon. Mr. Bennett, and a Mr. Rhode, now at Deptford, have within this fortnight past, availed themselves of this invention, highly to their satisfaction. The first and last, though amputated, the one not more than two, the other but three inches below the knee-pan, have the perfect use of their natural knee joints. The Hon. Mr. Bennett, amputated above the knee, was enabled, on the very first trial, to exhibit every movement of the natural leg, knee, ankle, and toes. The great objection of weight, so commonly urged against instruments of this kind, is in the present one effectually obviated.

Mr. Mann's stay in town cannot be protracted more than a week longer; consequently, those who wish to consult him on the subject, are requested to make the earliest application to No. 43, Great Mary-le-bone-street.
