THIS IS THE WAY
Every man who contributed towards making it possible for the new hardwood plant to find a place in Cordele and come here to operate has something to his credit in loyalty and in plain, straight forward wish to cooperate for the common good. The Dispatch could not tell how cities are built—it might if it had city builders running it. But the simple plan followed in placing this new enterprise is worth writing down in the business memorandum book of every business man in Cordele.
There was not a hitch—we dare say there will be none. The new business men who are coming here to cast their fortunes with Cordele will have a hearty welcome and their interests will be made ours.
We are sure that we will be able to work together for community growth, for business growth, for the prosperity of all who may deserve it.
Every local man who helped to make this new industry possible should have the heartiest congratulations of his fellows. Some men helped in different directions—some helped that it might make for real development. Some put away personal profit and gain—that immediately ahead of us—that all might together enjoy a common good.
