Gorman May Resign.

Washington, Dec. 23.-It is regarded as likely that Senator Gorman will soon resign his place as caucus chairman. Senator Gorman has not been in good health for more than a year, and his friends say he feels that the duties which the chairmanship imposes on him make a greater tax on his strength than he ought to subject himself to.

According to the report, the Maryland senator has already determined on this course, but has not yet decided just when he will ask to be relieved. The belief is, however, that he will call a caucus shortly after the re-assemblage of congress and then ask that the duties of chairmanship be put upon someone else.
