Montreal, Nov. 27.
The changeable state of the weather, we have experienced during the week past, gives us a true indication of the approach of our winter. For the first three or four days, we have had hard frosts, and a slight fall of snow gave the amateurs of the whip an opportunity of turning out in their carioles—and a few of them embraced the short-lived pleasure. Lately the frost is gone, and we have again rains, cold damp and unpleasant streets.
Our steam boats are preparing to go into winter quarters. The Caledonia goes to Boucherville islands, for that purpose to-morrow; and every thing indicates the coming season, when amusement takes the place of active bustle of commerce.
