U. S. MILITARY COMMISSION

Twenty-seventh Day's Proceedings.

MESSRS. BOWLES, HEFFREN, HUMPHREYS, MILLIGAN AND HORSEY IN COURT.

Hon. J. M. Mason on the Witness Stand.

The Commission met pursuant to adjournment at 10 o'clock A. M., November 11, 1864.

Hon. J. M. Mason, of Hancock county, was put upon the stand. His testimony amounted to nothing so far as the accused were concerned.

A man by the name of Hall, from Rush county, had presented himself at his office purporting to be a Son of Liberty, or to be the agent of some secret political society. He proposed to initiate witness, but witness did not pay any attention to him; and he left.

Harrison-Cornell was also examined. Horsey had told him that he had got some powder, caps and lead, and that he had them secreted at a point near the shoals in his county. Horsey told him they were hidden away in a granary to be delivered to order.

The Commission adjourned at 12 o'clock M. until Monday, the 14th instant, at 2 o'clock P. M., to convene in the rooms of the Council Chamber.
