Guy Mellon, formerly pioneer homesteader east of Plentywood, now of Campbell, Minn., has been in Plentywood for the past fortnight attending to interests here in connection with his homestead which he still owns an interest in. Old friends of Guy Mellon will remember him as one of the former members of the board of directors of the Producers News. He and Mrs. Mellon left Sheridan county in 1921 when he went to West Virginia; in 1926 they returned to Mr. Mellon's boy home at Campbell, Minn., where they have since resided. Mr. and Mrs. Mellon now have four children, two of whom are in school. He reports times just as hard in southwestern Minnesota as in Montana, farmers can't pay taxes and plenty of foreclosures. Guy is enjoying himself here among old friends. He doesn't know just how long he will be here but until threshing is done and the crop on the old homestead is marketed.
