One of the London Papers, brought by a late Packet has the following recital: "A curious fact was stated a few evenings ago in a large public company, worthy the attention and censure of humanity, and the cause of freedom. A West-India Planter came to England some years since, accompanied by his negro slave, who was soon informed, that every person, on the instant of his landing in England, becomes free. The negro lived with his master as a free servant, and was by him emancipated, and received wages. After some considerable time of residence, the master and the servant returned together to Jamaica, the servant feeling himself free by virtue of his emancipation.
