GAME HOGS CAUGHT WITH TOO MUCH ELK
HELENA.-Two men with 18 quarters of elk meat and two cub bears were arrested by deputy game wardens the past week, Warden James A. Weaver announced. The men, Charles Allen and T. M. Birkland of Fort Benton, were fined only $25.00 each. However, the game and the rifles of the two were confiscated by the state game department.
Deputy Game Wardens Carl Fender and Tom Peasley made the arrests. Near the camp of the two, in the higher reaches of the Sun River, deputies found the carcass of another elk which had been abandoned, as it lay in rough country.
