"I'm inviting everyone in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties to come to the grand opening of the biggest campaign headquarters ever opened in Southeastern Michigan," said Paul D. Bagwell, candidate for governor.
"We're holding an old fashioned political rally and celebration next Wednesday evening, July 20. We're inviting folks to come with their children We've been able to line up volunteers who will provide continuous entertainment Clowns will pass out "Bagwell" balloons to the kids; and coffee, cake, and soft drinks will be furnished and served by more than 300 supporters from the tri county area."
The building, is located at 6001 Woodward one block south of Clairmount, but zoning for the parking lot hasn't been approved.
Lloyd Johnson, Tri County Bagwell Campaign Coordinator, has reported that the building was obtained for less than the cost of a billboard for the five months of the campaign.
"I convinced the owners that the building would be better cared for being occupied during the summer and that whatever We were able to afford for a campaign headquarters would contribute toward the taxes on the building." Johnson said
