Full Text
We do not know how it suits democrats to be so frequently implicated, by their leaders, as a pack of conscience selling vagabonds, men whose principles are in constant danger from bribery; but we can boast with satisfaction, that no such source of alarm ever gained ground among our friends. If democrats would not lie, they might circulate all the money they could muster in welcome. They would make no inroad, in the honest ranks of federalism. Some of our party may sometimes be deceived by daring falsehood, but money will not purchase their integrity.
