For the MASSACHUSETTS SPY.
Mr. Thomas,
WHEN Bernard had so filled up the measure of his iniquity that he was no longer tolerable to the good people of this province, he was, to the great joy of thousands removed; but what have we gained by the mighty favour? Truly the sublime satisfaction of having a villain knighted and consulted in every measure that has since respected us. Now the viper to whom Bernard's own family imputed all his misrule and misfortune has also come to the end of his tether, so that he can no further ostensibly serve the designs of administration, and in great goodness is also to be recalled to give necessary information of the most probable means to take advantage of the weakness of this long abused people. But if in contradiction to both Bernard and Hutchinson's opinion they have virtue enough to defeat the tea plot, I know not what other article administration can fix upon with the least expectation of success.
