PASSES BAR EXAMS
William Perry Barber, son of Mrs. W. R. Barber of School street, was among the forty-four young men who passed the Connecticut Bar examinations according to an announcement made last Saturday by William R. Boardman, chairman of the state bar examining committee. Upon receipt of his official notification of passage, Mr. Barber, and the other forty-three successful law students, went to the superior court room in New Haven and on Tuesday they were administered the oath of practice by Judge Patrick B. O'Sullivan.
Previous to taking the bar examination, Mr. Barber graduated from Putnam High School in the class of 1925 and from Clark University in Worcester in 1930 where he received a bachelor's degree in the arts. While a student at Clark he was a member of the college debating team and treasurer of the debating society. He also served on the editorial board of the Clark News and was historian of his class at graduation. In 1930, he was elected to Tau Kappa Alpha, the national honorary debating society.
After leaving Clark, Mr. Barber entered the University of Virginia and graduated last fall with the degree of LL.B.
