CHICAGO - (ANP) The Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity holding their 44th annual conclave here this week had a message of greeting brought by actor Clarence Muse from Samuel Goldwyn, the moving picture producer.
Muse, a member of the Distinguished Service Chapter of the organization, delivered the personal letter from Goldwyn.
The producer who sent "warmest greetings of the season and my very best wishes for the successful continuation of your meritorious work," pointed out that for the past five months it had been his privilege to be associated with one of your fraternal brothers, Clarence Muse, who has performed a distinguished service for me by his warm portrayal of "Peter," in my forthcoming production of "Porgy and Bess."
Hutson L. Lovell, national president and Horace Johnson, president of the Chicago chapter, flanked Muse as the letter was read.
