Calloway Writes 'Jive' Bond Song

NEW YORK CITY—(SNS)— At the special request of Secretary of the Treasury Henry Morgenthau, Cab Calloway has composed the first war bond song in jive, titled, "Rackin 'em Back."

Combining jive-talk with a contagious melody, "Rackin 'em Back" urges bondholders to "stache your bonds away" which means "hide your bonds for safe-keeping." This advice coincides with the Treasury Department's current campaign to dissuade bond-owners from cashing them in before maturity.

Cab will introduce "Rackin 'em Back" in conjunction with the 5th War Loan Drive when he opens at the Strand Theatre on Broadway late this month.
