Full Text

During his Southwest Texas sojourns recently, Vice President John Nance Garner revealed to intimates he has lost none of the rugged vigor that has marked his long career as an American statesman at Washington.

He still uses his high, tip-bent collar. No matter whether he appears in winter togs or summer linens, the white collar is always there just as it has been for more than 30 years.

Somehow or other c. of p. conveys Vice President Garner's tie like he does Popeye's pipe. As long as Popeye has his pipe between his teeth he is not out; when it's gone he's not only down but out. The white-cropped Uvaldean, it seems, will always be in top form as long as he can wear that strictly individual collar.
