The first-class goes 190 ounces in silver and 65 per cent. in lead per ton; the second-class goes 125 ounces in silver and 40 per cent. lead. The vein is said to be 27 feet wide.
The mine is owned by Dr. McKay and Messrs. Brown and Cederholm, of this city. When Dr. McKay heard of the strike, a few days ago, he was so excited that he insisted on going there, although very ill. As he was unable to ride horseback, they put a good mattress in a wagon and took him out there. He is expected back in a day or two, when further details of the strike will be obtained.
