PERSHING'S SCOUT IS
KILLED BY MEXICANS

EL PASO, April 18. Mexicans attacked Dave Spillsbury a refugee from Mexico and brother of Lem Spillsbury the Mormon scout who was captured at Carrizal by Carranza troops, and inflicted wounds on his head from which he died in a hospital late today.

The Mexicans were said to have been stealing sand from property owned by Spillsbury and when the owner protested they attacked him with shovels. The Mexicans escaped

Dave Spillsbury was also with General Pershing as a scout at one time
