It is strongly reported, that a Bill will be brought in next Sessions of Parliament, for repealing an Act, which forfeits to the Crown the Goods and Chattels of those who commit Murder upon themselves, as it seems to punish innocent Children for the Crimes of their Parents, and often induces a Jury to bring in a Verdict of Lunacy, from Compassion for the guiltless Posterity, which they would otherwise make Felons de se; by which Means Suicide is not sufficiently discouraged.— A Crime which in this Nation seems to be on the Increase.
