MEXICO ROCKED BY NEW QUAKES
Hundreds of Additional Dead Reported in Vera Cruz.

MEXICO CITY, Jan. 8.-Hundreds of additional lives have been lost in a recurrence of earthquake shocks in the state of Vera Cruz, said advices from the city of Vera Cruz, today.

The zone affected by the new quakes was larger than that covered last Sunday and the added damage to property is tremendous. Estimates place the total dead in Sunday's earthquake around 3,000, chiefly in the state of Vera Cruz.

The second series of shocks began at 9 o'clock on Wednesday morning and continued intermittently. Many villages and small towns were partly destroyed.
