Charlotte, Jan. 24.-Despite the recent outbreak of measles our school's moving along nicely under the wise supervision of Profs. Carpenter and Mitchell.
Miss Italene Walden was added to our list of high school students a few days ago. We are indeed glad to welcome all who come with a purpose of helping and being helped.
Prof. John Mitchell has just recovered from a severe case of measles and, we are glad to say, he is back at his post of duty.
Miss Katie Pickens who has been absent from school for several days on account of sickness, we are glad to say, is among us again.
The primary department of our school will not resume its work for several days on account of the measles.
Our primary teacher, Miss Lea Hall, is visiting homefolks at Pfeiffer.
Some of the juniors enjoyed a glorious sleighing during the snow.
The school has just purchased a beautiful 8x5ft national flag, which will soon be unfurled on the belfry.
Our basket ball team did not play the Batesville team Saturday the 13th, on account of the inclemency of the weather. We hope to have the game at a more favorable time.
McKinley Huddleston and Tommy Fallis are absent this week on account of sickness but we hope they may soon be able to return to school.
The examination papers of the Senior class have just returned from Prof. Pickens of Batesville.
The Seniors are very much pleased with their grades and wish to thank Mr. Pickens most heartily for his kind words of praise and encouragement.
