TROY, N. Y., July 13. The death at North Adams of Thomas Quinn, of Nicer, who was shot on a railroad train Wednesday, while having Thomas Monahan in custody for robbery, adds still another chapter to one of the boldest crimes that ever occurred here. When Monahan was informed of the death of his victim he burst into tears, and with tragic, yet bitter tone, he exclaimed, "Look at me: first a counterfeiter, then a thief, now a murderer."
He is a young, fine looking fellow. He said that Quinn was a brave, good hearted fellow, and "I would rather have died myself than to have him die. I did not intend to kill him, but wanted to go away, and would have died rather than that his family should suffer."
