Highland Stars Win Over Athens Sox, 9-5

By BOBBY GREEN

Behind the capable flinging of Eddie Young who, last Saturday afternoon, held the Athens Red Sox well in check, the Highland Stars won a hard-fought game 9-5 on the old Morris Brown field before one of the best crowds of the season. The two teams will engage in a Sunday doubleheader this afternoon, the first game beginning at 2:30 o'clock.

John Frazier, Star shortstop, had his hitting shoes on and got two doubles for his day's work at bat. Willie (Bulldog) Harris also came through, getting two hits for the second straight day. He also had a sacrifice to his credit. Wright had two hits too. Feathers, Athenian third baseman, was the only visitor to connect more than one time getting two of his team's five hits.

James Kemp starred at second base for Highland while John Frazier was great afield too. Young twirled a not-too-hot game until the fifth inning.

While the Highland Stars were downing Athens, the Scripto Athletic were dropping a decision to the East Atlanta Stars, 7-2.
