Time to play ball...

With April each year comes Little League to East Hartford. We have heard the complaints of its detractors - the kind of overemphasis that is apt to result from strenuously competitive athletics. This is a fair charge, but it is not the whole story as many East Hartford families know full well.

Little League has built for itself a reputation in town. It is a program that is warmly endorsed by too many eager young, their parents, and the community generally not to have a valid reason for being.

We would encourage a sense of proportion that permits the season to be "fun" for the young participants. With this much, we'll enjoy watching you all "play ball"
