A motion of a very serious nature would have been brought forward on Saturday evening, in the house of commons, had it not been for the prorogation. The bill for encouraging the cordage manufacture has detained at the other side; and a question of much consequence arises from the circumstance. Since the repeal of Poynings's Law it is understood that no British attorney general shall have it in his power to cushion the bills of the Irish parliament. In case of dislike they are to be returned, and the lord lieutenant, as representative of majesty, is to proceed in the usual manner to the house of peers, and inform the lords and commons, in mild and constitutional language—'Le Roy s'avisera'—'the king will advise upon it.'
