The Fat Men.
The ninth annual clam bake of the Fat Men's Association took place at Gregory's Point, Conn., on Wednesday. The bake was composed of 100 bushels of clams and oysters, 10 barrels of sweet potatoes, 1,000 ears of corn, 300 pounds bluefish, 100 pounds eels, 350 pounds lobsters and 100 chickens. One hundred and eight "fat" men participated, whose aggregate weight was 24,617 pounds, being an average of 228 pounds.
