Earhart Seeks Legislative Post In Pima County

Raymond R. Earhart of Tucson Tuesday announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for representative in the Arizona legislature from the 16th district, comprising precincts 21 and 22 in Pima County.

Earhart is a veteran in public office. He served as state treasurer in 1920-21, two terms as county treasurer and two terms as sheriff of Santa Cruz County. He also served one term as representative in the legislature from Santa Cruz.

He has been a resident of Tucson for the past five years, during which he has served as an investigator for the Arizona Industrial Commission; he no longer holds that position.

Earhart came to Arizona from his native Ohio in 1906 and is a retired locomotive engineer. He was at one time with the Mowry Mining Company, then operated a small store in Patagonia, and later lived in Nogales where he served for a time as manager of the chamber of commerce.
