By Westerfield, S. B. No. 105—An Act concerning patented mining claims and the working and abandonment thereof.

A petition was read protesting against the passage of Fassett's high license bill. As the bill had already passed the House the petition was referred to the Senate.
Flanningham by request introduced a bill for the relief of C. S. Young, State Superintendent of Public Instruction. To pay $480 for traveling expenses. Committee on Claims.
S. B. No. 89—An Act to prevent the sale of ardent spirits to Indians. Committee on Public Morals.
S. B. No. 70—An Act for the relief of Chas. E. Laughton Lieutenant Governor and ex-officio Librarian. Appropriates $176. Committee on Claims.
On motion of Mr. Hamill A. B. No. 73 was taken up out of order It regulates the manner of drawing juries in the District Court Passed.
A. B. No. 68—To regulate proceedings in certain criminal cases relates to cattle and horses running at large. Passed.
A. B. No. 61—An Act to authorize the appointment of State detectives. Tabled.
A. B. No. 41—Revenue bill introduced by Mr. Folsom. Passed

AFTERNOON SESSION.
A. B. No. 80—Reported by the Joint Committee on Education was taken up out of order. The bill was about the bulkiest document yet presented by the Legislature. Read second time and ordered printed.
