WASHINGTON, Oct. 9.-Senator Albert B. Chandler told the Senate at its second War Secrets Session that Gen. Douglas MacArthur should either be given more support for his offensive campaign against the Japs or relieved of his command.
Speaking to his colleagues who had been lectured by Democratic Leader Alben Barkley and others on the subject of divulging information given them behind closed doors, Chandler renewed his plea for more planes, men and guns to be poured into the Pacific Theatre.
The Kentuckian, who urged a Supreme Command in the Pacific and Asia for MacArthur, quoted some of his colleagues declaring that insufficient weight is being thrown against the Japs. The core of his contention was that he and his colleagues believed Gen. MacArthur should get more assistance or should be removed.
