At a chapel service on Monday, January 23 (Mr. Stern's birthday) the university presented Mr. Stern with a citation for his unselfishness toward the public welfare.
The presentation was made by Dr. T. K. Lawless of Chicago, vice-president of the Dillard Board of Trustees. The illuminated scroll was signed by representatives of the faculty, trustees, alumni and students.
Mr. Stern has been president of the Board of Trustees since the conception of the university 26 years ago.
