Full Text

The Hartford Mercury announces the arrival at that place of Gen. Duff Green, who was escorted from the steamboat by Judge Peters, and took lodgings at the Exchange Coffee House! The General after inspecting what was worth seeing in the town, held a Levee, where many citizens paid their respects to him, and the next day left for Vermont. The General's absence from the metropolis, accounts for the suspension of proscription. If the Governor of Virginia in the interim, should have occasion to send any more of the "Unde nied and Undeniable" Essays to the Telegraph, he may address to Amos Kendall, who is left in command by Duff, and thus save himself the expense of postage, Amos being entitled to the privilege of franking.
