The public is cordially invited to attend the annual Men's Day observance at the St. Paul's Baptist Church, Waters Ave. and Culver Street, this Sunday February 18, 1962.
The morning speaker will be Mr. Caleb Bias of the First African Baptist Church. Mr. Bias is a native Atlantan, he attended the Fort Valley State High School in Fort Valley Georgia.
Presently Mr. Bias is employed as postman for the American Oil Company.
Among his many religious and civic functions he is: on the board of directors for the mentally retarded children's school; is chairman of the Band Booster's Club for Sol C. Johnson School; is a Trustee and serves as chairman of finance for his church.
The morning speaker's social affiliations includes: A member of Prince Hall No. 28; a member of Ezra Consistory No. 27; is past Potentate of Omar Temple No. 21 Mr. Bias is at present state treasurer for the Shriners.
The evening speaker will be Mr. Henton Thomas of the St. Paul's Baptist Church. Born in Dublin Georgia, Mr. Thomas received his elementary and high school education from the public schools in Chatham County.
Having served three years in the U. S. Army, he spent 30 months in Europe where he served with 7th Army.
Presently Mr. Thomas is employed by the Chatham County Board of Public Education where he serves on the faculty of John W. Hubert School.
Mr. Thomas is a member of various professional organizations. They include: National Educational Association; Chatham County Teachers Association; Georgia Teachers Education Association and the Classroom Teachers Association.
Mr. Thomas serves as financial secretary for his church and is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
