PROVE FATAL

Aged Miner, Employee of U. S. Gyp Hit by Ore Cars and Dragged Thirty Feet.

Margerita Herrerra, aged employee of the United States Gypsum Company of Arden, was seriously injured Monday when he was struck by an ore car and dragged thirty feet. He was brought to the Las Vegas Hospital and was in a critical condition last night. It is doubtful whether he will live through Saturday.

Herrerra was engaged in some task near the track and did not hear the oncoming cars. The man controlling the cars shouted at Herrerra but could not make himself heard. He applied the brakes but the heavy cars slid down the steep grade and struck the miner, dragging him thirty feet.

Herrerra sustained two broken ribs and a severe injury to his lung.
