Citizens Inspect Camp Ida Prather's Modern Facilities

Approximately 34 women representing various institutions and organizations journeyed to Camp Ida Prather of the Y. W. C. A. Friday to view the facilities of the famous camp site, and to carry back the enthusiasm and encourage more groups to avail themselves of the excellent facilities at the camp.

The result of the group's visit was favorable, according to Mrs. Ida Prather, one of the sponsors of the trip. "We feel that if the overall community saw first hand just what we have in Y Camp, it would also get behind our efforts to further develop its possibilities," Mrs. Prather said.

The visiting group included: Mesdames Mary Y. Greene, Emma Brown, R. A. Billings, J. B. Blayton Sr., Gerry Moore, Sarah Wynn, Clara Lowe, J. H. Taylor, H. V. Richardson, Mary Barlow, Carrie Connally, Bessie H. Rowe, Arrie Murphy, E. C. Miller, Effie Ward, Sadie Cash, G. W. Tanner, Arlie McAlister, Grant Adams, Maggie Carter, Misses Constance Young, Ruth Rush, Doris Blayton and Eunice Brunson.

Camp Ida Prather was purchased in 1948, and is located about 34 miles from Atlanta on the Roosevelt Highway just outside Fulton County near Newnan, Ga.
